Performance Intensive (Ages 14-16)
Gallery 7 Theatre Rehearsal Hall

Campers will dive into voice, movement, character development, staging and performance in more detail, all while creating a short, devised play from scratch.
On the final day of the camp, campers will perform their creation in front of family and friends on stage, in actual performing arts venue.
Instructors

James Lam
James moved to Canada in the summer of 2015 and settled in Chilliwack after getting married in 2017. Prior to this, he has lived across Hong Kong, Dubai, Cambridge, and Cardiff respectively. He attended Cardiff Metropolitan, completing his BA (Hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing, focusing his time on Journalism and Literary Transformations.
He trained with the National Theatre, National Youth Theatre and LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts) and has been a working actor since 2010, appearing in TV, Film, Video Game, and Audio Drama productions across the UK and North America. James has worked consistently with Gallery 7 Theatre in both a performing and coaching capacity since 2018.
Following his move to Canada, he taught Drama and Theatre from Grade 8 - 12 alongside ELL and Bible at Unity Christian in Chilliwack. He now works full time for the Diocese of New Westminster as the Children, Youth, and Family Leader at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Chilliwack and as the Head of Communications/People and Culture for The Centre for Spiritual Renewal.
James finds deep joy in writing analytical essays on film and art, reading, writing, and creatively collaborating with his friends. When he’s not doing these things, the source of most of his happiness is found in reading to his children, walks by the river, and fighting for social justice both in our local community and globally.
