Glory
by Tracy Power
Abbotsford Arts Centre

An electrifying play about the greatest hockey dynasty you've never heard of.
From 1933 to 1940, the Preston Rivulettes won 348 games and lost only 2, dominating women's hockey when most Canadians didn't even know women could play hockey. Then they vanished from history.
Now their story comes roaring back to life through fierce choreography, a score that fuses the 1930s with the modern day, and the raw ambition of four young women who refused to stay off the ice. When the world tells you that you don't belong, what does it take to prove them wrong—game after game after game?
Based on the true story of Canada's most dominant, but most forgotten, champions, this high-energy play filled with dance celebrates the athletes who played their hearts out while the country looked the other way.

Theatrical storytelling at its best… this script has both velocity and depth… certainly one of my favorites.
